Ten things about me: (aside from the obvious "i like arts!!")

1. I always get brain freezes in the back of my neck instead of my forehead. Everyone calls me a freak when this happens.

2. Before firmly deciding to do art for a living, I planned to run away with the circus. No, really. I wanted to be a stage manager for a touring Cirque du Soleil production, and spent the better part of two years training as a technical theater major at college. This is probably a big reason why I'm not further along as an artist...

3. I drink insane amounts of tea. All day every day. If I'm at a store or restaurant and they have a new or fancy tea, I MUST have it. Tea goes with everything and I get very irritable without it. I'd like to live someplace where this doesn't make me a weirdo. (btw, this site -> [link] is an amazing source of inexpensive, delicious loose leaf teas (cream earl grey ftw!). The actual store is within driving distance of me and I always end up buying way more than I planned on).

4. My all-time favorite book is Watership Down, and my all-time favorite movie is "The Dark Crystal." Because I'm that kind of doofus. (and because they're perfect.)

5. I hate being on boats out on the ocean, because all I can think of are the miles of oogedy-things between me and dark sea-floor; I have an irrational fear that somehow I'll fall overboard, sink to the bottom and be devoured by hagfish and bristleworms. Hagfish and bristleworms are so grossssssssss ;_; Plus salt-water is the nastiest tasting thing ever and makes me immediately nauseous if I swallow even the tiniest amount. barrrf yucky salt water. ;_; The ocean is very nice and pretty from the shore. I just don't want to go in it.

6. I'm a vegetarian, and I feel partly guilty and ashamed about it because most people who aren't vegetarians think we're all crazy freaks and weirdos and missing out. I'm not trying to make a statement or judge anyone or be smug or self-righteous, it's just a personal choice. ;_; And yes, I know meat can be tasty. I just don't want to eat it anymore.

7. I drive a tiny chevy metro. Despite it's comical smallness, it can carry almost anything. Theater set pieces, dishwashers, 8' 2x4s, Christmas trees, furniture, you name it. It doesn't look like much, but it gets the job done. The only thing I tried to fit in that it couldn't handle was a giant styrofoam egyptian sarcophagus that I was sculpting for a play at the theater I worked at at the time.

8. I have 5 cats, and they're all huge. I've been wanting a nice small kitty, but no, I keep ending up with giant cats. Either they're fat and lazy, have really big pouffy fur, and/or are just built really big (like my giant maine coon and huge, dog-like flame-point siamese). EVeryone else has petite little cats. What gives.

9. I frequently stop playing video games righ before finishing the last level. I'll have lots of fun working to get the power-ups and get as much of the story as I can, but a lot of times once I'm at the last level/boss I end up losing interest and just changing to another game, since I already did the fun parts and the endings usually are underwhelming and disappointing considering the amount of time and work I had to put in to get there.

10. I love bees. They're so neat. As long as you don't bother them, you can get pretty close and watch them. If I had the time or resources, I'd keep beehives. Bumblebees are the best, though; the bigger, the better. At my old college, they had these flowers that would attract these HUGE black bumblebees, as big as your thumb. They'd fly by your head with a really low-pitched "WHUMMMmmm." Awesome. No one else seemed to care. And they cut back those flowers down to the ground later that year. >:\ EDIT: Google has informed me that it was probably a carpenter bee. 8D
